The Green Bay Packers and the New York Giants battled to the very last
second before a 21-21 tie was decided as the settling final score.
Both teams played deep into the 4th quarter with the score tied at 14's
before Packers RB Lou Brock broke free on a 6 yard scamper for a TD with
just 2:51 left to play in the game. But Giants QB Arnie Herber was
not done yet. Herber and the Giants strung together a 13 play drive,
moving the ball all the way to the Green Bay 14 yard line before facing a
4th and 2 with just 9 seconds left to play in the game. With no time
outs remaining Herber faked the run and fired into the end zone in the
direction of WR Neil Adams. Adams made a leaping catch with just :01
second remaining in the game to tie the score at 21-21. The tie
clinches West Division title for the Packers. And the Giants still
trail the Washington Redskins in the East.
